When life knocks you down, what do you do?
Some people retreat. Others, like Jack Percival, lace up their boots and take the hardest road…literally. Walking more than 400 miles from Surrey to Glasgow, Jack is proving that when everything feels impossible, we can still take one more step.
Jack’s journey started a year after battling serious mental health struggles.
He’s averaging 20 miles a day, pushing through exhaustion, pain, and blisters—not for glory, but to show other men that there’s always a way forward. His message is simple: whenever you think you can’t go on, you can.
What does this teach us about leadership and resilience?
- Perseverance isn’t about speed, it’s about showing up every day. Leadership isn’t about always having the answers, it’s about taking the next step.
- Pain doesn’t mean stop. In life and business, setbacks aren’t signals to quit, they’re part of the process.
- Your journey inspires others. Jack’s walk is raising awareness and funds for Percy’s Homeless Hub, a charity he founded to honour someone who helped him when he was homeless. The best leaders lift others along the way.
- Support fuels success. Jack keeps going because of the messages he’s receiving. In the workplace, small acts of encouragement make a huge difference.
